Dear Christian, May 17 th 2010
I wanted to write you a note to thank you for the wonderful time that I had in Verchères last Tuesday.
I so enjoyed the warm welcome and getting to discover your lovely and peaceful riverside town. I will remember the lovely dock and Madeleine de Verchères standing bravely with her rifle, a strong and protective woman. I so appreciated the ancient trees, the quiet, the fresh air and the friendly locals, such as the people who were most kind to me at the Pâtisserie Berger as well as the lovely, helpful and knowlegable folk at the Serre Labonté. I stocked up on all my flowers and herbs there and was glad to have such professional and personal attention.
How glad I was to be away from the bustle of the city markets. I also enjoyed meeting you and your mother and the kind and generous reception you prepared for me. Dinner was a world class restaurant in a pastoral setting at the restaurant Angorsak, where the food was wonderful. From start to finish my day was memorable.
I was so glad to discover beautiful Verchères through your organization and podcast, and would gladly revisit anytime for an interview, or just to enjoy a day away from the city. I spoke to many people about the experience and was proud to have had the opportunity to learn more about your vibrant community and to experience life there firsthand, if only for a day.
Best regards,
Christine Atallah
